Wave Magazine – Issue 9 – May 2019

As summer approaches Waverley seems to get busier and busier with events and further developments, and there’s lots to tell you about in this issue of Wave Magazine.

The Waverley Events team are working away on the Great Get Together, which is taking place on Saturday 22nd June on the new park. If last year’s event is anything to go by this will be another fantastic community event. Check out some of the raffle prizes on offer as well – thanks go to all the local businesses who have been kind enough to donate a prize.

It’s all change for Waverley regarding the new Community Council, which now means Waverley in its entirety is now represented by one parish council rather than being split into two as previous. Check out the update from the Waverley Residents Association for more info and how you can get involved.

From our sponsor, Harworth we have an update about the new park, plus what’s in store on the next stage of the residential development, as well as an update on the much anticipated retail development from Dransfield Properties.

For the history buffs amongst us, we have been given permission to publish some ‘then & now’ style photographs that bring Waverley’s former life as the Orgreave Coking Plant back to life. As controversial a subject the Battle of Orgreave was, it’s important not to forget how much history the site holds, and this feature will enable you to picture what it used to look like in comparison to what it is today.

From a commercial perspective, we would like to express our thanks to our advertisers, sponsor and contributors who make this all possible. As readers, we hope you find Wave a useful publication to find out what is going on, and we welcome your feedback!
